The product everyone wants but can’t pronounce. An unknown brand to me a mere casual shopper until my beauty gurus on YT started to promote the companies products and this one in particular which is aimed for curly girls. However, this lil 250ml plastic box comes at a hefty price for the average curly girl like myself. I bought this for £15, a spontaneous buy from liberty that was thought out… kinda. This product claims that:
Its formula is designed to condition curly or wavy hair leaving it soft and light, and adding elasticity and volume. It does not weigh down the hair.
I like the sound of this. It’s what I NEED. The first time I used this I left it on all night as a hair mask as I had just come off straighten my hair. And I must say my hair felt amazing and bouncy. I decided I would use this product sparingly and not just load it up on my hair.
I have found this product amazing for detangling in the shower/bath. Something I could never do. However after visiting the website I realised I may have been using this product wrong. It gave the instructions of:
Apply to towel dried hair after using Love Curl Shampoo. Leave on for 2-5 minutes, comb through then rinse. Dry the hair.
I had been using this like a conditioner in a normal shower, and thus didn’t feel like I had been getting the wow factor I had from that overnight treatment. Kinda makes sense now.
While I believe the product works, lets talk about the other stuff. This is very thick, which I am actually grateful for, this means I don’t have to dip my pinky in too much and I get a lot of use with one ill scoop. I gotta savour this magic stuff. The smell isn’t nice. But its not horrible either. I can live with it, after all, I had been using a garlic face mask… and I ALWAYS get told my hair smell good…I think I thank Kinky Curly Knot Today for that 😉 Other then thickness, the texture is siliconey…. I can’t seem to find the ingredients the only thing it says on the website is:
Almond from Noto – elasticizing and volumizing Panthenol – gives moisture and shine to the hair;
Which sounds nice and all… but would be good to get a full list, as a curly girl who knows must/wants to know the ingredients she’s putting in her curls.
Another thing I want to bring up is the packaging. I’ve seen some people less than impressed by it and I can’t blame them for what You’re paying for. However, I must admit I kinda liked it because it was different and I feel this is much easier to travel with. I love the sound of opening and closing a plastic box haha!! but I agree, for what you’re paying it may not be thee best packaging.
So this was meant to be the first impression but kinda was a full review on the other aspects. I will, however, update on what I really think of this product very soon as I will use it with the instructions it has given on the website and see if I see the magic happening on a normal condition routine.
If you don’t have a liberty nearby you, you CAN buy this product online from hair salons that stock the item.
If anyone else has used/tried this product PLEASE let me know what you thought, I am very interested to know peoples views on this one.
