Salon Experience: Made Hair & Beauty, Sheffield

Made, formally know as Nuba, is my go to hair Salon in Sheffield. I love this place because it really embraces all hair textures. Originally aesthticallly targeting primarily afro hair, the salon decided to re brand to target a more wider audience and appear more inviting. The staff at Made are very warm and welcoming. I love going there to be greeted and made to feel at a place that understands curls.

Having once been shunned away at a hair salon because they don’t do ‘Afro hair’ it’s been a bit of an unpleasant experience going to hair salons. And while I now know where to go, my experience are still not quite 100%.

I recently got highlights at Made, and the experience was lovely. My stylist was (and always is) Patrice whose hair is beautiful, I can never stop staring when I visit! We sat down and I explained the look I was going for, and she was very enthusiastic which set me in a great mood! Made also offer the treatment of Olaplaex, which protects the hair from the damages of bleaching. I was happy to get this, as everyone fears bleach, especially girls with curls.

Made offer drinks and are very hospitable. The salon is clean and pretty and I feel I am in the care of professionals. I wasn’t able to really see my hair finished as I had spent quite a lot of money and so didn’t pay for a blow dry (student life) and so had to wait till I got home to see how the colour really turned out.

And I must say I was over the moon! I love my hair, and I am hoping to get more highlights in the summer. Thank you Made team!

Love Emma x
