I don’t know why but I’ve been really keen to try this specific product by Carol’s Daughter for some time now. And thanks to CURL BAY who ship US products over to the UK I was finally able to grab my hands on some long-awaited products such as the Deva Curl One Conditioner which I have already reviewed.
A refresher spray is something of a miracle which I’m sceptical about working.I used to find getting to 2nd-day curls kinda hard to do, 3rd was impossible! But lately, I’ve been getting there and so a refresher spray wasn’t that much needed, but I thought I’d give it a go since we are in spring time!
A big generous bottle of 296ml of what really does look like hair milk is said to:
- Deeply moisturizes
- Improves softness
- prevents frizz
I was most intrigued by the ‘preventing frizz’ aspect. Now I’ve used this on my second-day curls and sprayed it quite liberally all around my hair. I waited some minutes for it to sink in and then I scrunched it in some more. Quite quickly you can see the spray creates some shine and definition. containing Agave/Sweet Almond and wheat protein… I find that the wheat does overpower in the smell, which, for me, I’m not too keen on, but my boyfriend liked the smell, so each to their own. Despite this, the product contains no nasties such as parabens or alcohol!
I found this spray gives a good illusion to preventing frizz, and really helps my curls to pop and stand out the next day, rather than if I just left it to look like a bush with no definition. I really like do like this spray despite the smell. My only negative I can find is that I didn’t like how it makes my hair feel the day after but that’s no worry to me as I rarely do 3rd-day hair. Also, my method may impact the results, I’m not one to finger coil so I’d guess that could have given better results!
If you are looking for something to help define your second-day curls I would recommend this as it helps get the job done! For more updates follow me on Instagram and Twitter on the handle @emmas_curls
